Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision for psychologists interested in routine outcome monitoring, feedback-informed practice, and continually improving their effectiveness as clinicians.

Fees & Payment Options

Fees remain below the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) recommended fee of $340 per session (50min). Different fee structures apply for individual and couples therapy, as outlined below, with fees reflecting both consultation time and the clinical documentation and associated care completed outside the session. As a small practice, and with current Medicare rebate rates, Room For You Psychology is unable to offer bulk billing.

Individual Therapy - 50min sessions

$305 / Initial session
$295 / Subsequent session

Couples Therapy - 75min sessions

$470 / Initial session
$450 / Subsequent session

Individual sessions are approximately 50 minutes. For trauma processing work, some clients may benefit from longer 75-minute sessions to allow additional time for therapeutic work, which can be arranged as needed.

For couples therapy, 75-minute sessions are recommended to allow sufficient time for deeper exploration and meaningful therapeutic work. This is strongly recommended for the first six sessions, with the option to move to shorter sessions as therapy progresses.

Clinical Supervision - 50 min sessions

$300 + GST / session

Board-Approved supervision for psychologists and other professionals seeking reflective practice, professional development and support. Supervision can be tailored to your needs, from short-term consultation through to ongoing support. Please note that supervision is not currently available for psychologists completing the 4+2 or 5+1 pathways.

Interested in Clinical Registrar supervision?

Sarah provides Board-Approved supervision for Clinical Psychology Registrars through the Psychology Registrar Endorsement Program (PREP), where she is also the Program Lead. PREP is designed specifically to support psychologists completing the registrar pathway towards endorsement, bringing together supervision, professional development and practical support throughout the program. Registrars accessing supervision with Sarah through PREP can receive discounted supervision rates, alongside access to PREP's broader registrar supports, including CPD, resources and guidance in navigating program requirements.

Please note that all appointments from 5pm and on Saturdays will incur a $25 after hours surcharge

Cancellation Policy

Life can be unpredictable and circumstances change. To ensure I can support as many clients as possible though, I require at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Where less than 48 hours' notice is provided, a $100 fee will incur.

Where less that 24 hours' notice is provided, or in the event of non-attendance, a cancellation fee up to the full session fee will apply.

Cancellation fees will be automatically charged to the credit card on record. Please note that Medicare will not pay a rebate for a cancellation fee.

Should you need to make changes to your booking, please send an email as soon as possible to: info@roomforyoupsychology.com.au

Payment is required at the completion of each session, with card details securely stored to facilitate payments and any applicable cancellation fees. Payments can be processed securely via Tyro. Where payment cannot be made at the time of your appointment, a $30 late payment administration fee may apply, and future appointments may be placed on hold where fees remain outstanding.

Funding Pathways

Private & Private Health

You do not need a referral to access therapy at Room For You Psychology and are welcome to attend as a private client. If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible for a rebate on psychology services depending on your level of cover. An invoice will be provided to support your claim. Private health and Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for the same session.

Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

You may be eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan, which allows you to access Medicare rebates for eligible psychology sessions. A referral can be provided by your GP or another eligible medical practitioner. Please provide a copy of your referral before your first appointment so that we can process your Medicare rebate following your session. While we will assist where possible, it remains your responsibility to keep track of your Medicare eligibility and any required reviews.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Room For You Psychology is not a registered NDIS provider. Services may be available to self-managed NDIS participants, with invoices provided for you to claim through your plan. Please discuss your funding arrangements with us prior to commencing services.

Other Third-Party Funding

Services may also be funded by other third parties in some circumstances. As funding arrangements and approved fees vary, please contact us before your first appointment to confirm whether your funding can be accepted. Where a third party does not cover the full session fee, you may be responsible for paying the difference.

Therapy Services & Supervision

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is available across the lifespan (6years+) and can support a broad range of psychological concerns, life experiences and periods of change. There is no single way that therapy should look — sessions are tailored to the person, their circumstances and what they hope to gain from our work together.

For some people, therapy may involve 6–12 focused sessions addressing a particular concern. For others, particularly where there is a history of trauma or more complex difficulties, our work may take place over a longer period. I take a stepped approach to trauma therapy, first developing a shared understanding of what is happening and establishing safety, stability and helpful strategies before considering trauma processing, where this aligns with your goals.

The first few sessions give us time to understand what has brought you to therapy and, importantly, for you to get a sense of me and whether I am the right psychologist for you. From there, we develop a plan together, drawing on evidence-based approaches while regularly checking in on your progress and experience of therapy.

I value authenticity, honesty and feedback in the therapeutic relationship. If something is helping, I want to know; equally, if something isn't working or doesn't feel right, I want there to be room to talk about that. I deliberately maintain a smaller caseload, allowing me to remain thoughtful, prepared and genuinely invested in the work I do with each client.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy offers a space to slow things down, better understand what is happening between you, and work towards a relationship that feels more connected and responsive. My approach draws primarily from Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, alongside practical, evidence-based strategies that can be used outside the therapy room.

The initial sessions are focused on getting to know each of you as individuals, as well as understanding you as a couple — your relationship history, strengths, challenges and what has brought you to therapy. Together, we begin to map the patterns or cycles that can keep you feeling stuck, exploring what happens beneath these interactions and gradually weaving in emotion-focused interventions and practical strategies for change.

Couples sessions are deliberately joint wherever possible. Individual sessions may occasionally be recommended where clinically helpful, but I work from a “no secrets” approach to couples therapy — information that meaningfully affects the relationship or our therapeutic work will not be held separately from your partner. Where individual conversations occur, the focus is on bringing the work back into the shared therapeutic space.

I particularly enjoy working with couples who want to invest in their relationship before difficulties reach breaking point — whether that means strengthening connection, changing recurring patterns, navigating a difficult season or simply understanding each other better.

Sometimes, however, the goal of couples therapy changes. Where a relationship is coming to an end, therapy can also provide a supported space to navigate separation with greater clarity, care and respect.

Clinical Supervision

I have been a Board-Approved Supervisor since 2022, providing supervision across different stages of practice — from university placements, early-career psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars, through to experienced clinicians and senior peers.

My approach is deliberate, reflective and  developmental, with supervision shaped around what you need at your particular stage of practice. I have a particular interest in feedback-informed practice, routine outcome monitoring and therapist effectiveness, supporting psychologists to develop not only strong clinical skills, but greater awareness of themselves and what they bring to their work.

I am also a supervisor and Program Lead for the Psychology Registrar Endorsement Program (PREP), supporting psychologists as they work towards area of practice endorsement. In this role, I oversee registrar training and support, work closely with a national network of experienced supervisors and trainers, and contribute to the development of high-quality supervision, CPD and practical resources designed specifically for the registrar journey.
